Brother Unveils New Business Colour Laser Line-up
Breakthrough Performance & Value for Small and Medium-sized Businesses
DOLLARD-DES-ORMEAUX (QC) - September 12, 2007 - Brother International Corporation (Canada) Ltd today continued to reinforce its position as one of the leaders in providing laser printing solutions to the home office, as well as small and medium-sized business markets with the introduction of its new colour laser printer and multi-function centre line-up. At print speeds of up to 21 pages per minute in both colour and monochrome and with a starting price of $499.99 Can*, these machines set a new standard for performance, compactness as well as print quality, and certainly provide the best value for the investment. The series include three (3) new network-ready colour laser printer models (HL-4040CN, HL-4050CDN and HL-4070CDW) and one (1) multi-function unit (MFC-9440CN).
With a focus on quickly delivering brilliant colour laser printing for desktops and small offices, this new line-up of printers and multi-function centres (MFC) is driven by Brother’s new colour laser engine, which uses the single pass technology so as to provide this best-in-class output speed of 21 ppm. This innovative technology simply requires paper to be passed across the drum just once to pick up all four colours, rather than four times. This enables users to produce colourful, high resolution 2400 x 600 dpi output that results in razor sharp text and brilliant colour quality for consistently professional-looking documents.
Moreover, each machine has built-in Ethernet network connectivity standard, in addition to Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface. They also offer PCL6 emulation, as well as a USB Direct Interface that allows compatibility with both PictBridge and USB Flash Memory Drives. The line-up uses an easy access front loading system for all consumables, plus the user has the option of choosing standard or high yield toners.
“Being a major player in the monochrome laser printing market in Canada, and given the current market trends, our colour laser line expansion is appropriately timed to serve the expanding colour laser printing market,” states Brian Caldwell, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Brother Canada. “These newly developed single pass colour laser machines clearly demonstrate Brother’s level of engineering expertise and market commitment to small and medium-sized businesses.”
Brother’s new line-up of printers and MFCs:
HL-4040CN: network-ready colour laser printer.
HL-4050CDN: network-ready colour laser printer with built-in automatic two-sided printing (duplex).
HL-4070CDW: Wi-Fi certified wireless network-ready colour laser printer with built-in automatic two-sided printing (duplex).
MFC-9440CN: network-ready colour laser Multi-Function Center® (5-in-1): print, copy, scan, fax and pc fax functions with a full software suite to maximize your business efficiency.
These high-performance new products were built on Brother’s legacy of making desired levels of printing functionality available and affordable to the SOHO/SMB marketplace. Starting with its market leading monochrome Multi-Function Centres and entry level laser printers over 10 years ago, Brother continues to meet the evolutionary output needs of small to medium-sized businesses by including as standard a number of enhanced features at new, affordable price points.
Brother backs up these offerings with extensive user support including machine lifetime toll-free technical support, in addition to a one year limited exchange express warranty for the HL-4040CN and a one year limited on site warranty for the HL-4050CDN, HL-4070CDW and MFC-9440CN. The HL-4040CN and MFC-9440CN are now available at several major office super store locations across Canada and all four of these models will become available across multiple distribution channels in the coming weeks. The estimated street prices of these units are as follows: HL-4040CN: $499.99 Can, HL-4050CDN: $579.99 Can, HL-4070CDW: $629.99 Can and MFC-9440CDN: $869.99 Can.
