Brendan joined Optimum in January 2008 and provides ongoing media relations, social media engagement, corporate communications, and event management support to a number of Canada’s largest and most respected corporations. In his role as Account Manager, Brendan is actively involved in the strategic planning and execution of public relations campaigns and takes pride in connecting client stories directly to newsroom decision makers and online influencers.Brendan is a media relations expert, having spent time on both sides of the story - he started his communications career as a video journalist for CTV and producer for CHUM TV. With a background in broadcast journalism, he is accustomed to delivering tremendous earned media results for clients across business, consumer, and community outlets. Notably, Brendan’s support to a single client during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games helped achieve more than 125 million earned media impressions.Brendan is no stranger to the web, having a solid understanding of what it takes to thrive in today’s online reality. Keenly attuned to the principles of Web 2.0, he has conducted extensive social media outreach campaigns.Prior to joining Optimum, Brendan honed his PR skills at Weber Shandwick Worldwide.When Brendan isn’t busy making his client’s PR dreams come true, he works out at the Steve Nash Sports Club, jogs on Vancouver’s seawall, or kayaks - when the weather allows.A graduate of BCIT’s Broadcast Journalism Diploma program, Brendan also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Communications) and continues to pursue his education in the field of public relations.
