David Brodie
Senior Account Director

David Brodie brings 10+ years of communications experience to Optimum Vancouver, having worked for elected officials at both the federal and provincial level, as well as providing counsel to public and private sector clients from around the world.
David served in the Office of the Prime Minister as Senior Special Assistant for Northern and Western Canada, with responsibility for both policy issues management as well as the operational aspects of leading prime ministerial tours and events across the region. Prior to this David was the Director of Operations on a successful federal leadership campaign, and served as a political advisor in the Office of the Minister of Finance. He has planned and executed speaking tours in every province and territory in Canada, as well as throughout Asia, Europe, the U.S., and Mexico.
David has in-depth experience planning large scale international events having served on organizing committees for annual meetings of the G-8, APEC and the Commonwealth and working together with a range of Olympic Sponsors during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
His work at Optimum has included leading campaigns for organizations such as the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, the British Columbia Securities Commission, GAP, General Mills, Canada Post, Tourism British Columbia, The British Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and BuildDirect, the world’s leading online wholesaler of building materials.
David has an in-depth understanding of the social media arena, and has advised clients on using social networking in a range of public relations campaigns, including development of social network advertising. He has also worked with clients to develop strategies that effectively engage bloggers and podcasters in media relations campaigns, and led development of internet-optimized (online) newsrooms.
David is a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) and an active participant on Cossette’s Digital Committee.
