Paul Marr

Paul Marr brings strong communication skills and creative ideas to Optimum Public Relations. As an Account Manager, Paul provides support in the execution of strategic communication, planning and media relations activities.

Since joining Optimum in 2007, Paul has played a leading role in providing media relations for clients, consistently pitching their stories onto the front pages of B.C.’s business publications. Paul has also made key contributions on Optimum’s tourism-related account, and was a member of a team that generated positive media coverage across Canada and the U.S. on networks including CTV, NBC, Fox, and CBS. The campaign spokesperson was also interviewed by USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated, and NBCOlympics.com.

Paul is one of Optimum’s thought leaders on the use of social media and has executed successful campaigns for several clients resulting in both national and North American online coverage.

Prior to joining Optimum, Paul was a Corporate Sales Representative for the B.C. Lions Football Club where he leveraged the team’s success to develop relationships with Vancouver’s business community. Working closely with all departments, Paul had his hand in everything from marketing decisions to game day operations.

In addition to his corporate experience, Paul enjoys volunteering in Vancouver. He is an active member of 7 Dollar Lives; an initiative that supports the Red Cross by donating funds for the purchase of life-saving mosquito nets. In the summer of 2007, Paul lent his expertise to the Volkswagen Ultimate Shoot Out at Canada Place, and during the summer of 2008, Paul coached an Under-15 East Vancouver Boys Basketball Team at the Basketball B.C. Provincial Jamboree.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) from University of Alberta where he balanced his academic load with playing on the varsity basketball team and volunteering for the campus radio station.
